Women (and their loved ones) fighting breast cancer...
Bonjour tout l'monde... and welcome to my personal page. Here is a bit
of food for thought : According to the National Cancer Institute of
Canada, approximately 20,500 Canadian women will be diagnosed with
breast cancer this year... sadly about 5,400 will die from the disease.
Those are pretty scary stats considering that one breast cancer
diagnosis is one diagnosis too many. My initial goal was to raise
$2000.00 - which I managed to do in less than 3 weeks - thanks to the
generous support I received from family, friends and colleagues. I've
set a new goal: SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS -- $100.00 for every kilometre I
plan to walk! I know, it's a lot of money but YOU CAN'T ACHIEVE WHAT
YOU DON'T TRY!
Rest assured, 100% of every donation goes directly to the Ottawa
Regional Cancer Foundation, funding important breast cancer research,
education, services and care.

| Trigger's Taekwon-Do School |

Trigger
Ms. Kathy Trigger is an example of what can be accomplished through
perseverance.
She began Taekwon-Do in 1987, and has strived to become the best
martial artist that she can be. Taekwon-do is her calling and her
passion. 1991 Kathy received her 1st degree black belt.
1993 Kathy tested for and received her 2nd degree. 1994 Kathy opened
her first school in Bells Corners, Nepean, Ontario. 1996 Kathy tested
for, and received, her 3rd dan.
2003 Kathy tested for and received her 4th dan. Throughout her career,
Kathy trained hard to become a repeat gold medallist in provincial and
national competitions. With each competition, more gold, silver and
bronze medals were won and in 1994 she earned a position to represent
CANADA for Women’s Power Breaking at the World Taekwon-Do Championships
held in Malaysia.
Kathy once again proved her skills, when in May of 1997 she won a
coveted spot to represent CANADA for Women’s Hyper-Weight Sparring at
the World Taekwon-Do Championships in 1997, held in St. Petersburg
Russia.
Kathy continues to teach her Taekwon-do with a zeal and passion. Her
reputation as an outstanding children’s instructor is well known
throughout the community she serves. Her dedication to children in
Taekwon-Do is founded on her 16 years as a daycare professional.
In 1994, Kathy began training in combat martial arts. With media
attention focusing on women’s issues, she developed a specialized
women’s self defense course which is based on situational awareness as
well as “in situ” training (the student is placed in realistic
scenarios and taught how to deal with them). In July 2003, Kathy opened
her new location in Barrhaven, Nepean, ON, where she is offering a
variety of classes in Taekwon-Do. |
